On Amanda's one month doctor appointment the doctor mentioned that her birthmark and may be a "Port Wine Stain"  He said these are relatively common, buy are rarely associated with a disease known as Sturge-Weber Syndrome.  He said it was nothing to worry about because it was so extremely rare, but nevertheless he would keep an eye on it.  Well it went in one ear and out the other.  We really never gave it a second thought.  Looking back I think it was better that we had not because we probably would have needlessly worried ourselves for the next year and a half.

Amanda continued to grow and really was doing great.  She had met all her benchmarks and her height was always around the 90th to 95th percentile.
